WELCOME

"If one could make alive again for other people some cobwebbed skein of old dead intrigues and breathe breath and character into dead names and stiff portraits, that is history to me!" - George Macaulay Trevelyan

I love this quote, and I really do live by it. I am constantly trying to come up with visual ways to share information, especially when it comes to family history. My house is filled with treasures including old photos I've restored and designs I've come up with.

Over the years people have seen these projects and asked how they could create something similar, or if I would be willing to create it for them. Hence, History Haven “the business” was born. I hope you enjoy looking at a few of the projects I've chosen to share. In 2012 I started creating actual "products." Watch as this site quickly fills with many ideas and opportunities for you and I to create something totally cool together that your family will really love.

More than just a business, History Haven is a “cause” that is really important to me. I love making connections with people: both those living and those of history. I am really dedicated to my own family and want to help others create their own connections with people they can “relate” to. There isn't a better feeling in the world to know you are loved and accepted by someone simply because you share the same parents, in-laws, grandparents, or great grandparents.

Option A - "Goin' Digital" - $49
16x20 - DIGITAL FILES ONLY*
1 - Low resolution file for sharing online (jpeg)
1 - High resolution ready to print at any print shop (pdf)
Emailed to you through your email address.

*WHY GO DIGITAL? Let's face it, once a chart is created, you're going to want to share it. I want you to! Send it to Grandma. Send it to Auntie Rose and cousin Charlie. Post it on Facebook or to your family blog. The great part about Option A is you pay just once and can share it as many times as you like.

FREE: If desired I will add donor info to the bottom of the photo, so when it's floating around the Internet people can know who to thank for the purchase or to contact for more information.

Option B - "Hard Copy" - $79
16x20 PRINT + DIGITAL FILES
The print will be drop shipped to the address of your choice through my favorite online printing company. Digital files will be sent to your email address for future sharing and printing.  Honestly, I prefer to let you print it yourself ... and the difference in the price reflects that. :)

Option C - "Family Fortune" - $29
Say you order a file for yourself and then you share it, and as result Aunt Sarah wants a copy for herself ... but with her side of the family included.  If it's the same design, and over half the pictures and text remain the same, they get the "Family Fortune" pricing.

General Pricing Guidelines
Prices include all scanning of photos if not already digitized, labeling of photos, and general adjustments (i.e. brightness and contrast), as well as applying sepia or other color tones if desired.
